Gator News June 2021

Home of Scholars and Champions

Greetings Garretson Families,

Summer School Gator Camp was Gatorrific and we had 245 students participate! Thank you for all of your support. I am so grateful for the Garretson Elementary staff and community — thank you for being a part of it and supporting the work we’re doing with the children who will be the citizens that lead our tomorrow. As we look ahead to the start of our 2021-22 school year, I will continue to provide any updates to safety guidance as we receive it from the District. Stay connected to CNUSD and Garretson emails. Your new grade level teacher will send you a Class Dojo invitation for classroom communication by August 6th.

Our first day of school is Tuesday, August 10th! I will miss you over the summer, but hope you enjoy a safe break. Our office is closed until August 4th.
If you need any support or have, questions please contact our District office at 951-736-5000.

  1. Safety is extremely important to us here at Garretson and that includes drop off and pick up of our students.  We need our Gator families to ensure that anyone who is helping to transport understands our expectations.
  2. Please make sure to drop off and pick up students in the designated location, please don’t drop students off in the middle of the street. Your patience and planning ahead is greatly appreciated.
  3. As temperatures rise in August please make sure your student is dressed appropriately, hydrated, and has sun protection.
  4. All bikes and skateboards should be locked in the bike rack at the front of our school and should always be walked on our sidewalks once they are entering our school parking. Students must wear a helmet if riding to school.
  5. Remember daily attendance is important, this includes tardies and early outs.  Tardies will count towards loss of instructional minutes.  If your student is sick please keep them home from school.
  6. We adults must model The Gator Way: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe, and above all Be Kind!
